About

Steve founded Plant Prefab in 2016 to change how homes get built: designed and prefabricated in Rialto, California, with sustainability engineered into every stage. Plant is the first building technology company certified as a B Corporation.

Before that he founded LivingHomes, the design studio behind the first home in the United States to earn LEED Platinum certification, installed in 2006 and designed by Ray Kappe. His earlier work spans software, media, and public health: co-founding Clearview Software (acquired by Apple), co-directing Walt Disney Imagineering's Virtual Reality Studio, founding PeopleLink, and serving as a founding partner at idealab. For the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative he managed a $220 million program in Mozambique, the initiative's first in Africa.

He holds a bachelor's degree with honors from Brown University, studied urban planning at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and was a Coro Fellow. He co-founded the Sustainable Business Council and Hope Street Group.
